In the decade of 60 immigration to Portugal was composed primarily of individuals who lived in the Portuguese colonies and who came to our country for academic purposes, professional or business.

Many others came to occupy other unskilled professions, since there was no shortage of manpower caused by emigration Portuguese. After this decade, African independence led many Portuguese who lived in these new countries return to Portugal, become known as the “returnees”.

In the early 80, there was continuity of immigration from countries of Portuguese language.
